ZoomCare hopes to “change healthcare in this community and the country,” said Dave Sanders, Zoom’s co-founder and CEO. The model is based on providing transparency over treatment costs and giving customers more control over their care at a time of renewed focus on keeping down escalating healthcare costs. The clinics are part of its virtual “healthcare campus” where patients can book appointments through a mobile app and pay fixed prices for health services at a fraction of the cost charged by regular providers. Portland based healthcare provider Zoomcare plans to “remake American healthcare” by expanding its on-demand urgent care model to emergency, surgery, dental and primary care, among others.Īt a press conference held this morning in the company’s Pearl District offices, Zoomcare executives said they are opening nine new clinics in the Portland metro area this year.
